This decade

Well, it's almost here: the end of 2009. This year sure did go by fast. I remember when it was 2006, just a year after high school graduation and now it's just days away from 2010. I certainly have come a long way in my life up to this year. Right now, I have two jobs, am a student majoring in visual arts/illustration and am just having an interesting time experiencing new things and meeting new people. There have been ups and downs to this year, but the one thing that I am proud of at least, is that the election of President Obama has taken place and he is now our President! We have really come a long way and in I helping out the campaign from August to November 2008 I felt that I have help accomplish something that no one thought would be possible: Having a black man in office.

Man, 2009, I remember when it was just 1999 and people were celebrating the millennium. That was already 10 years ago, and since then we've had some good times and some bad times. These past eight years have been a total nightmare with the Bush administration and the changing of our economy. My jobs have been going uphill since 2003 and I am beginning to get places I never thought I would be before. Like working in a movie theater. Right now, I'm working in my second movie theater and it's like almost second nature working at a theater now. Mind you, I still plan on moving ahead in my life, but right now things are just going to get better. I think I'm in the place I need to be in my life right now.

In 2004, I traveled to Europe with my high school orchestra, and had a totally new experience going outside of the Unite States, even if it was just for two weeks. In face Europe is a place I plan to visit again, if not live there. Vienna, Austria is absolutely a wonderful place to visit. It was great traveling there. For those of you wondering if I still plan on playing my violin, I would have to say no. I mean, I haven't really picked it up since graduating from high school. I have just wanted to shift my full attention from music to visual arts. I have been working on a portfolio over the years and plan on expanding on it. All this has been going on within the last ten years. I am looking forward to this decade and am keeping an open mind.

Until then, see you in 2010!
