Knott's Scary Farm 2012
Yesterday my good friend and I went to Knott's Scary Farm out in Buena Park, California. I've got to say it was a blast! I'm already looking forward to going again next year!
The event lasted from 7pm to 2am and both of us stayed the entire time! It was fun!
Now, I have never gone to theme parks during the holidays...or special occasions so I had no idea what to expect or what difference there were going to be. Man, I really wish I had done this in the past! I was missing out! The drive wasn't all that long to be honest. We came from LA and went straight to Buena Park and it took only like 45 minutes tops to get there. Strangely enough it was a Saturday so I figured there was going to be a lot of traffic. So, picking my friend up at 2 I figured would be an ideal time to plan ahead and just get there rather than going at the last minutes just to be late and not have a parking spot. Anyway, we get there and I got this special parking pass that guaranteed parking just for the Haunt event. As we get there, we head over to the park and get ready to start this awesome night!
We get there a tad early so we kill time by looking at the overpriced stores and just window shopping. I can't resist so I have to grab some ice cream and then a Cinnabon...come on...it's a special occasion, right? (Even though I have been eating that crap a lot lately). Any who, the park finally opens and we get in! Everything is dark and there are mazes, haunted houses, spooky areas and just an all out vibe of living in a horror movie. The first maze we went to had the theme of a slaughter house. It was freaky and dudes were popping in and out of nowhere. We all had to keep moving because obviously there was line. But it was so foggy and realistic that you just felt that the knives and objects they used were real. I found myself screaming at times. Not gonna lie about that.
After the maze, we then went over to get some grub and then onto one of the best rides in the park! It's called Boomerang and it gets that name for a good reason. It backs up all the way to the top, and then comes down full force ending up with several loops and does the exact same thing again, but this time we go forward and come back down backwards repeating the same thing again. It was crazy! The not so fun part was the waiting-in-line part. I swear, the line was so slow and it was at least 30 minutes before we got to the second portion of the line. Those damn people and their fast passes! Grrr I knew I should have gotten one! As we were waiting, there were several people just walking from the line to the entrance. They didn't want to wait anymore and to be honest, I couldn't blame them. By the time we finally reached the 1:30 ride, it was already an hour if not a bit more just waiting in the line. Then some dude farted and yeah...I'm sure you could figure out what happened. I almost knocked out it was so bad. And the lines were so congested that if you turned, you would be staring at someone straight in the eye. Then, there was a couple in front of my friend and I and the dude grabbed his girlfriend and started moving back and forth, back and forth. Yeah, buddy...keep it in the bedroom, alright?
Anyway, the experience was fun and there would always be someone lurking in the shadows with a knife just to jump up and freak someone out. It was awesome. When we went to get food, I figured the dudes wouldn't bug us, but it still happened. A monster snuck up behind my friend and put his face right next to hers. She seriously lost her appetite after that. It was humor!
As the night came to a close, we headed home and I've got to say, if I would be able to go to that again, I totally would! Fun times!
