The problem with Star Trek, was that the shows, along with the movies, all had a continuing story and if you missed an episode or didn't watch it for a while, you would be totally lost. There was so much continuity and character development in the other Star Trek movies and shows. The average viewer would be lost. But with this movie, you get an insight on the characters we've all known growing up, Kirk, Spock and the rest of the crew of the Enterprise. This depicts how they met and how they all came together. It explains the point of Star Trek and really gets you into it. At least, this is how I felt about it. I've been a Star Trek fan for a while, and I think this movie is going to enter Star Trek in a whole vision and have it accepted in today's popular culture. I've meet people who just hated Trek, yet loved the movie. They even bought it on DVD and said to me, "This was the greatest movie of the year!" Well, of course not all of them used those words, but you get the picture. In conclusion, this is a movie for everyone to enjoy and check out. Heck, my mom came into my room while I was at work yesterday and took it out of my DVD player to watch in her room. And sci-fi is the least of her favorite genres to watch on television. So, after saying that, hehe...I think I've made my point in this case. Check it out!
